I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Hello Hackbridge residents,
We want to provide a follow up on early messages shared in the Hackbridge Community Group, regarding a reported attempted abduction of a young girl in our area.
After further information came to light, it has been confirmed by the family involved that this was a misunderstanding, and no attempted abduction actually occurred.
We’re relived to share this update and appreciate the concern and vigilance shown by community members during this time.
We ask that everyone please refrain from further sharing in the original messages, as the situation has since been clarified, and that we be mindful of how information spreads in moments like this. Speculation, even when well-intentioned, can cause unnecessary alarm and may affect real people involved.
